Marine and Coastal Habitat Trails

The activity is structured around 12 itineraries designed to introduce the main characteristics of the coastline, specifically the Valencian coastline, recognising the main habitats and species, assessing their condition and identifying the main pressures, threats and risks.
The objectives of the activity are as follows:
1. To learn about the natural marine heritage of the Valencian coast.
2. To identify and understand the structure and functioning of marine ecosystems.
3. To analyse the ecological status of the different places visited and the integrity of the habitats.
4. To analyse the dependence of the maritime climate and geology on the geomorphological formation of the coast.
5. To recognise the different anthropogenic impacts to which the coastal marine environment is subjected.
6. To recognise and explore the natural and environmental risks to which the coastal area may be subjected.

Each itinerary has its own particularities and will require specific activities, such as hiking, snorkelling, species identification, use of cartography, measurements, etc. However, all itineraries will include group discussions and critical analysis of observations.
