Resumen
ED-SEA aims to make Exascale computing possible in the coming years, through the improvements introduced during the project in the next generation interconnection networks for supercomputers, which increasingly include more computing nodes. These networks must scale to hundreds of thousands of nodes and must provide features that also enable HPC (high performance computing) applications to achieve Exascale (10 to 18) floating point operations per second (FLOPS). To achieve this objective, the RED-SEA proposal brings together the key European entities in interconnection networks, bringing together the best academic centers together with the key European industrialists in this field. The project will enhance BXI technology, the leading European interconnects, which is in production and used in some of the systems on the Top500 list. The aim is to adapt it to the challenges of the coming years.
