EL USO RECREATIVO EN LOS SISTEMAS AGRIOS PERIURBANOS: PREFERENCIAS SOCIALES

Abstract

Some agricultural systems in the urban fringe, maintain a fragile equilibrium between the consideration of agricultural space and/or periurban areas, subject to pressure by alternative use of the land (industrial, infrastructure, commercial and leisure centers, ...). Some of these periurban agricultural systems are characterized as agricultural ecosystems that provide goods and services related to leisure and recreation, the process development beneficial to the environment, such as fixing CO2, the production of healthy and safe food, the preservation of natural and cultural heritage, etc. The agricultural countryside is also appreciated by society from a visual amenity perspective, as indicated that activities related to the spend leisure time and recreation, provides an opportunity to restructure farming, and diversification activities. It is possible change marginal agricultural spaces use to diversify of farming activities. So some surfaces will become occupied by uses such as rural tourism: ecoturism, scientific and cultural tourism, related with traditional agrarian culture, museums, urban gardens, scenic routes, walking and hunting, … An efficient policy should be attempt the public preference for periurban fringe us, and should be paid attention to the explicit measurement of public demand. Multicriteria analysis (MCA) and the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) can help assess the re creational social priorities for integrated into policy decisions aimed to maximize the utility of the agricultural system. In this paper we study social preferences for the functions of the land system of the Valencia urban fringe. We take a representative sample of residents of the study area. We must to show, which are social preferences for the tourism activities in this area
