Abstract

A macroscopic spatio-temporal model of the brain activity is presented in this paper. The model is a non-autonomous reaction-diffusion model, which is deduced as a spatial generalization of the time response model presented in other works. The analytical solution of the model is obtained for an idealized half-sphere geometry of the brain. The boundary conditions provide the quantization of the solutions and the initial conditions are needed to obtain the coefficients of the series that take part of the model solution. Some hypotheses about the mathematical structure of the stimuli that produce the brain dynamics are stated. From them, the mathematical solution of the spatio-temporal response model of brain activity is completed.
