Abstract
Wood is a fundamental component of a great quantity of structures with high added value e.g. historical value. However it is very prone to deteriorate in certain environmental conditions and to suffer pest attacks such as termites. This paper presents a wireless system developed in ITACA intended to continuously monitor the condition of the wood. The node implements novel
analysis techniques and is capable to provide continuous operation in an autonomously manner for more than 13 years.
