Abstract

A strategy for the fast synthesis of two-port passive microwave devices with arbitrary frequency responses is proposed. It consists in approximating the coupling coefficient of some device either linearly or by means of an adaptive method, reducing the number of expensive direct calculations. An UWB pulse-shaper is shown as an example to verify the proposed methods, which are compared with the exact calculation of the coupling coefficient. As it will be shown, the adaptive method shows great advantages in terms of accuracy and computational cost.
