Abstract

Mesoporous and hierarchical zeolites, and particularly desilicated zeolites in alkaline media, have attracted much attention due to its capacity to overcome diffusional limitations that may occur in microporous zeolites. Previously, some of us have optimized the desilication procedure of zeolite ZSM-5 by controlling the hydroxyl concentration and the NaOH/tetrabutylammonium hydroxide (TBAOH) ratio. Here, adsorption isotherms and diffusion rates of linear, monobranched and dibranched hydrocarbons on these desilicated hierarchical porous zeolites were compared with the values of the parent zeolite.
