Abstract
In this paper, a general and flexible synthesis
method based on inverse scattering is successfully used for the
design of a multiband filter. The smoothly varying profile that
characterizes the synthesized filter is inherently electrically long.
Hence, a compacting process using LTCC technology is followed
to modify the initial design and implement it into the emerging
multilayer technology. The results provide a good example of
the LTCC integration and compaction capability achieving a
compact version of the multiband filter. In addition, they also
demonstrate the possibility of compacting the devices designed
using the described general synthesis technique.
