Abstract

A novel concept comprising an elastic metamaterial with an embedded network of fluidic channels is presented. Utilizing an integrated computational methodology based on a finite-element time-domain scheme, channel flow dynamics and fluid-structure interaction, we demonstrate that the elastic and structure may be tuned ¿on the fly¿ by varying the composition of the fluid
