Abstract

Adsorbent regeneration is often the key step regarding the economic and technical viability of the adsorption process. The use of microwaves, MW, for regeneration of sorbents is already established as an alternative way of heating solids efficiently [1, 2]. However not all the porous solids are able to absorb MWs. This work presents the study of dielectrical properties and adsorption process for amine functionalized mesoporous silica. Amine functionalization shows that it enhances MW absorption while increasing the CO2 adsorption. Fig.1 shows the dielectrical properties of the non- and functionalized MCM-48 samples. Table 1 also shows the amine loading and the CO2 uptake.
