Abstract

The plastic injection molding process has been widely studied with high detail in the last 15 years. It has become a mass production process whose products present qualities that are highly influenced by the process conditions. Likewise, the introduction of new technologies has allowed for the possibility of optimizing this process and, consequently, resulting in the process being susceptible to be improved. One of these new techniques is multicriteria decision, which has been combined with injection molding simulation software and design of experiments tools. The generated model has been used to evaluate an experimental case with a given geometry, in order to obtain the optimal injection molding conditions.
