Abstract

The approach of this research work is the analysis and the comparison of the system of drinking water supply from the Roman times to the present day, analyzing three fundamental phases: acquisition, transport or pipeline and distribution in populations. The aim is to give a preliminary view of the differences in techniques, methods, treatment and quality of water supply. Will analyse each of the phases separately to thus be able to assess the progress achieved over time. Analysis of the techniques employed in Roman times has been extracted from the reading and comprehension of texts written by professionals who have done work referred to the subject matter that we try to, with regard to the analysis of supply today apart from the knowledge acquired through consultations to texts professional of the sector, expressing in this document practical professional knowledge of authors over years of work in the sector of distribution and supply of water to populations.
