Partial Least Squares Technique Applied to Predict the Corrosion Current Density of Carbon Steel

Abstract

Chemometrics techniques have been applied using data obtained from Voltammetric techniques (Open Circuit Potential, Linear Polarization Resistance and Tafel). The main objective of this study is to study is to predict the corrosion current density through chemommetric tools and compare this results with the obtained through traditional electrochemical techniques. These results show the ability of PCA and PLS for the evaluation and diagnosis of corrosion processes.
