Abstract

The anti-Ro52 autoantibodies are one of the most common antibodies found in sera from patients with systemic diseases. We demonstrated that a two successive elementary steps mechanism represents the general mechanism for the Fc receptor Ro52 in lupic patients with anti-Ro52 autoantibodies. This protein forms large crosslinked immune complexes. On the contrary, the Fc receptor Ro52 interacts by a single step reaction in healthy subjects, generating a complex with the same structural properties as above.
