Abstract
In this paper, the probability distribution and error probability of the detected energy of a 2D-OCDMA system are calculated. Code set independent upper and lower bounds for the bit error probability are obtained considering beat noise as the main factor limiting performance of the system. The main influencing parameters such as the coherence time, number of active users and their effect on the system performance are discussed.
