Abstract
Access control is one of the fundamental security services used for mitigating
risks in networked environments. Therefore, it is imperative for companies to
implement a robust and reliable system to ensure that their most valuable
information assets are safe. Traditionally, increasing security in access control
systems is directly tied to a reduction in the usability of user services. The ACIO
project and its results provide mechanisms to improve usability in managing access
control and interoperability. These mechanisms have been validated in different
application domains, such as transport and port logistics, on stage at the Port of
Valencia.
