This result consists of an acceleration method for Magnetic Resonance Imaging and the apparatus that implements it. The method is based on prior knowledge of the interactions between the electromagnetic fields and the patient/object in MRI systems. In the proposed method, the data is acquired at sampling rates beyond the Nyquist-Shannon limit, and images are reconstructed by solving a system of linear equations characterized by an Encoding Matrix constructed from the specific knowledge of how every spin would evolve in time depending on their position for a given pulse sequence. We have named this method OS-MRI, which stands for OverSampled Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
