Climate KIC project
The project aims to develop, demonstrate and validate a scalable business model of integrated “pump-to-forestry” system
that is sustainable and socio-economically attractive. This would imply consolidating a holistic technical solution and
developing a new business model that would make this system not only more economically profitable in the long-term but
also more accessible in the short term (e.g. by models such as pay-per harvest) and lead to significant GHG emissions
reduction and capture.
The project outcomes can therefore be summarized as:
1) A small-scale demonstration of previously-abandoned land (approx. 1 hectare in Lliria, near Valencia) of proposed
“pump + reforestation” system to validate and showcase the proposed technical and business solution.
2) An environmental assessment, also considering the social and economic implications.
3) A market analysis to quantify scale up opportunity and to-market strategy.
4) A business model for encouraging the adoption and scale up of the profitable “pump + reforestation” solution.
