Among the main factors limiting melon yields are a fungal disease (powdery mildew) and another caused by a virus (ToLCNDV). The present project (RESISTMELO) attempts to respond to these limiting problems by means of two biotechnological approaches, one based on new CRISPR/Cas gene editing techniques and the other on the generation of spontaneous somaclonal mutants by in vitro culture techniques.
